2010 - The year for co-ops to address the Climate Threat?
The Copenhagen climate summit has been and gone, failing on many levels to live up to the magnitude of the climate issue we now face. The ACT! blog will now turn its attention to keeping readers informed of any climate news stories and developments from around the world.
It is now time for co-operatives to step up to the plate. It is more important than ever, that co-operatives now take a lead and work together to tackle climate change. We must focus in 2010 on co-operatives:
- reducing their own energy consumption and carbon emissions
- motivating their members and workers to do likewise
- Encouraging the production, distribution and use of renewable energy
- Actively lobbying and campaigning for our politicians to do the right things
Case Studies of Best Practice
ACT! will be preparing its plans for 2010, in line with the sector organizations over the next few weeks. At the foundation of these plans will be the case studies of best practice, found here on the website, in the newly developed case study page. This will be used as a cross sector knowledge sharing interface and will encourage cross border project collaboration.
ACT! NOW, you enter co-operative case studies of best practice, by forwarding information to the ACT! team or by entering the details yourself on the case study page of this website.
