About the climate threat

There are many useful sources of information about the threat of climate change. Perhaps the most authoritative is the UN’s International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) see www.ipcc.ch ; An international scientific conference took place in March 2009 – you can find its outcomes at http://climatecongress.ku.dk/newsroom.

Climate organisations

Many NGOs and government sites provide useful information about climate change in all its guises. Here is a selection:-www.decc.gov.uk for the UK's Department of energy & climate change. www.foe.co.uk for Friends of the Earth; wwf.org for World Wildlife Fund; www.oxfam.org for Oxfam: The EU climate change site is http://ec.europa.eu/environment/climat/home_en.htm; Another useful European source is www.europeanclimate.org.

About your carbon footprint

You can find useful information to help you understand your carbon footprint at the following sites (for the UK) www.actonco2.direct.gov.uk, or www.energysavingtrust.org.uk then select "your impact on climate change" then "carbon cutter", or www.guardian.co.uk/money then select money deals then "carbon offset" (bottom right).

About the Copenhagen Climate conference in December 2009

We suggest two authoritative sources, although there are many. These two are http://en.cop15.dk for the UN site, and http://unfccc.int/2860.php for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
